The BKA accepts applications on a rolling basis throughout the year for all ages and grade levels.
Our Enrollment Process
Our enrollment process consists of 7 steps:

First Contact (Schedule a Tour)
The first parent contact will be with our Admissions Team via admissions@bkais.ch or our ‘Schedule a Tour’ booking form. Our admissions team would be delighted to organise a visit for you of our fabulous campuses, or to answer any questions you may have about the application process.
Tour of Campus
School tours usually last about one hour and involve a tour of the school with a member of the senior leadership team. This includes viewing the campus and all learning spaces. During this time parents find out more about the school, our mission and vision and you get to see learning happening in classrooms.
The second part of the tour is an informal chat with either a member of the pedagogical leadership team or a campus manager. During this session questions can be answered at greater depth. For parents outside of the city we also offer the opportunity to tour school virtually and video conference with one of our school leaders.
Submission of the Application
Our application forms are non-binding and do not carry any application fees.
Should we not be able to offer you a placement immediately, your application will be placed in our waiting pool. Please note that we generally are able to predict our availability approximately 6 months in advance.
For our prospective Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary students, we ask that you please also submit any recent developmental or academic reports with your non-binding application form for our evaluation.
Placement Offer
Once a suitable placement has been determined, the admissions team will reach out to you via the contact information provided on the non-binding application forms with a placement offer.
Once a placement offer has been made and accepted, we will finalise the placement details for each child. This process is specific to either our Early Years or our Kindergarten and Primary Students. Please view the relevant pages below:

Signing the Contract
A placement is only considered confirmed once the contract has been co-signed by the parents and the BKA.
Once the details for the contract have been finalised with the admissions team, you will receive the full admissions package via post. For families who are overseas and are relocating to Basel, we will send the documents to you via email.
It is important to note that the BKA requires the signed hardcopies of the contracts for our records. The admissions team will provide you with more information regarding how to return the required documents to the BKA.
